Following the sad news of Tres Fountain We have been advised that Jack Perry who was a percussionist in the continental days and Robin Ensol who also played in our band a few years ago have also passed away
It is with sadness that we have heard of the death of Tresnor (Tres) Fountain. Tres has a long association with what is now the City of Sails Brass Band having served as a Committee Member, President, long-term Librarian and number one supporter. The band was incredibly successful during her tenure as President, winning several championships and touring to the United Kingdom to perform at the British Open. Tresnor’s involvement in the band was originally through her husband Lambert and the family legacy lives on through the magnificent facilities at the Lambert Fountain Memorial Bandroom in Onehunga. Tres was also involved in supporting a number of National Youth Bands and also gave willingly of her time to assist with contests, concerts and other jobs as required for many different organisations.
A memorial service will be held for Tres at the Manukau Memorial Gardens at 2:00pm on Wednesday 3 July. The family have requested a band to perform if possible at this service. If you are available and could help celebrate the life of Tres in this way can you please fill out the following RSVP so that a balanced ensemble can be formed. The band will be directed by Nigel Weeks.
The band were proud to play for the Anzac day service at the OneHunga RSA
A large crowd enjoyed the annual service with the traditional music , address and the laying of Wreaths
Congratulations to Daniel for his maiden rendition of Last post
Well played Daniel
